Using Easy Lack® Single
Plate Substitute
Instructions
- Clean Plate
It is important to use a perfectly clean offset plate. Wipe surface
with a film cleaner or alcohol to remove any residue.
- Prep Plate
Prepare your plate as you normally would. It is very important to make
sure that no gum Arabic or any foreign substances remain on the plate.
- Avoid Air Bubbles
When applying Easy LackŪ Single to the plate, make sure that no air
bubbles remain, which could distort the uniformity of the coating application.
- Cut Away Extraneous
Areas
After the Easy LackŪ Single has been properly affixed to the plate,
any areas that will not require coating should be cut and removed.
This can be done with a sharp knife or blade.
- Secure Edges
After you have removed the Easy LackŪ Single from the non-coated areas,
press down those edges to ensure a permanent bond. For long runs, it
is recommended to seal all cut edges with clear fingernail polish.
- Engage Press
Before you begin to coat or varnish, the press should be engaged on
impression to allow the material to anchor itself to the plate. This
will also remove any air bubbles that remain.
- Plate Storage
When storing the plate after use, the following procedures should be
followed:
> To clean
after aqueous coating use ammonia and water.
> When varnish
or UV coating is used, a slightly dampened
rag with solvent should be used. Be careful
not to let solvent attack the adhesive on
Easy LackŪ Single plate.
> Cover plate
with paper and keep away from ambient light
until used again.
> Be sure to
store the unused Easy LackŪ Single in its original
package.
> Store all
Easy LackŪ Single away from heat and direct
light.
